Why We Built This
My Opia was founded by Dr. Benjamin Meyette after years of watching patients struggle with the same complaints: headaches after screen time, eye strain by mid-afternoon, and neck tension from constantly adjusting their position to see clearly. Traditional eyewear wasn't solving the problem because it wasn't designed for how we actually work today.
Standard progressive lenses prioritize distance vision. Over-the-counter readers offer basic magnification. Blue light glasses are mostly marketing. None of them address the real issue: hours of sustained focus at near and intermediate distances creates accommodative stress and binocular fatigue that standard eyewear simply isn't built to handle.

Ujwal oversees all technology at My Opia, including our website and proprietary software platform.
